Our Policies
Based on strict Care Commission guidelines.
Kilcoy Kindergarten, located at Kilcoy approximately half way between Inverness and Dingwall in The Scottish Highlands, follows strict Care Commission guidelines when compiling the policies of the Kindergarten. All policies are regularly reviewed and updated by management. As well as here, our list of policies are displayed in the front foyer of the Kindergarten.
Positive Behaviour Management Policy
Here at Kilcoy we believe that a positive approach to managing any behaviour is extremely important. Our staff are fully trained in Positive Behaviour Management strategies and are confident in putting these in place to ensure the children in our care are able to express themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.
Confidentiality Policy
It is the policy of our nursery that all information of children and parents is kept confidential. Please download our Data Protection Policy (.pdf) for full details.
COVID-19 Policy
During the ongoing Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic we recognise the importance of following and implementing the latest government guidance. Please download our COVID-19 Policy (.pdf) for full information.
Complaints Procedure
Minor queries and complaints should be directed in the first instance to the head member of staff in your child's room. In the event of an unsatisfactory outcome the parent should contact the manager. If the grievance is still not resolved then the Care Commission can be contacted on 01463 227630.
Accident and Illness
With the best care and attention accidents can still happen, by law all accidents involving physical injury must be recorded. Parent will be given a report of the accident. A contact number is essential, not just incase of accidents but in the event of your child becoming ill, it is for that reason we also require the name and number of your doctor so that arrangements can be made for you or a representative to collect them and if necessary arrange an appointment with the doctor if you desire. For safety and good health of the other children we cannot look after any child who may have a contagious or infectious illness. A 48 hour absence is nursery policy after sickness / diarrhoea has been diagnosed. This applies to our staff also. This eliminates infection.
Nappies and Potty Training
Any child wearing nappies will have them changed on the nappy changing unit, which is situated in each room. Any child requiring nappies and wipes are to be provided by the parents. When the time comes staff will assist with toilet training when the parent informs us to do so.
